WHAT WE HAVE BEEN UP TOWow it has been a long time in coming but Recycle2Art.com is now up and running and our artists are awesome! I want to take the time to thank all of my friends and family who have supported me through this process. I have had a blast meeting other artists, learning to build websites, and creating some art of my own. I can’t wait to see what the next few months bring.
FEATURE ARTIST - HARVEY WHITCOMB Located in Centennial, Colorado, Harvey Whitcomb is an Architect who is also an innovative artist working primarily in recycled materials. His techniques create beauty from discarded and mundane materials, turning trash into treasure. He has explored metal, foils, paper and is now primarily exploring a material he invented himself: CDs and DVDs modified with heat and flame to spectral, opalescent beauty. Please click here to e-mail your votes for next Quarter’s Featured Artist.
RECYCLING IDEAS· Save old toys, ornaments, or bowls that have lost their paint and recoat them with fallen leaves, magazine clippings, newspaper, old fabric, etc…… · Anything can be a canvas, find some scrap wood, an old saw, even a worn out blanket and make them beautiful. · Use old balloons to make stress balls. Cut the end off of one blown up balloon and fill it with flower, beads, rice, beans, etc… Cut a second balloon and stretch it over the ball. Continue to add more balloons around the ball alternating the location of the opening until you are satisfied.

December 4, 2007 The Container Project They need everyone's help to get this project underway! This is a Collaborating opportunity for all artist. Creating a community by way of concept. The internet contains millions and billions of peoples ideas, this is a way to bring those ideas together. Using the biggest "human container", the container will contain a smaller container. Essentially making the internet feel like a smaller "object" and making people feel more connected. The website will display everyone's work and every piece will be different. To fully understand this collaborative project, go to the website and check it out. This is experimental, but it should be fun!
