Artist Bio…
I am the quintessential recycler. Growing up in rural Pennsylvania, I learned early on, how to fashion coverings for the home and clothes for myself. With wear and tear, these designs were continually reinvented into other functional solutions. Such threads of tradition inspire my love for rescuing discarded fabrics, garments and finds, and transforming them into functional works of art.
The signature Sweater Collection of bolsas includes a line of totes and hobo bags. It is produced from rescued sweaters, with thoughtful attention to detail and production. Newly introduced, the Cravat Collection reinvents found neckties into small jewel-like clutches. The Upholstery Collection transports needful items in a durable and most stylish fashion. Rescue, reinvention, functional art. – Karen Lukacs

Persia Clutch
The Persia Clutch is a sample of a new clutch bag that measures about 3.5” x 7” wide, about the size of an eyeglass case. They are created from discarded neckties. Designed with a snap closure, they are the perfect size to carry your glasses, keys, identification and a tube of lipstick. Perfect for a night out on the town! The embellishment is created from buttons, earrings and other found objects. These clutches are also carried by the Tucson Museum of Art Store.
