I am a recycle-artist, among other things.
I also deliver mail, part-time. I have studied in literature and
music and started to take part in painting exhibitions at the
beginning of the 1990's. I took to 3D and to recycle-art at
once, with the new millennium. Obsolescence offends me; art
helps me to resist.
I love delaying the dump cycle of
material. I read narrative potential in stuff, collections of a
same stuff. Individually the object refers to itself, its
history and context. But bunched, they talk of us, of our ease
to dump them, often without even realizing they ever existed.
What I love most about recycle-art, is it's community aspect.
People around me are happy to participate in the collection of
my medium. I think obsolescence bothers them too.
N.B.:
As of now, my website is in french only. I hope to translate it
in English and Spanish by spring.
I
collect springs, smaller springs mostly. Pen springs to bed
springs, say, Though I love a garage door spring too, once in a
while. I collect sunglasses and lenses: prescription lenses,
photo lenses, microscope ... lenses. All lenses.I also collect
champagne corks, musical instrument strings, remote controls and
pendulum metronomes.
