Balloons can be cut up into strips and used as rubber bands, hair bands, or used as yarn for knitting or crocheting (a bit difficult to work with but fun).  

 Use old balloons to make stress balls: Cut the end off of one blown up balloon and fill it with flower, beads, rice, beans, etc…  Cut a second balloon and stretch it over the ball.  Continue to add more balloons around the ball alternating the location of the opening until you are satisfied.
